6) Been shopping around for paint...wow... worth it's weight in GOLD

Decided on the Paint Color... Massey Ferguson (Tractor) Red...  from the local Farm Store

5) Beginning Body Work

Cleaning off years of grease and dirt!

More dirt and grease coming off. 

Checking fit of original hood before fitting the new "old stock"  hood

Fits the same as the old hood... not good...guess they weren't very picky at the factory in '53!  Hard to put something on that doesn't fit well!

Resurfaced flywheel, new ring gear on fly wheel. 
 Complete new clutch assembly

3) On to the Frame, Suspension and Running gear



Sandblasted and Painted... Ready to move on to bigger and better things!

2) Tear Down...

Pulled the engine...I am not putting this engine back into the jeep... I am using the engine from my "donor" jeep... I know it runs.   

 







Starting to remove a few years of grundge and buildup






Engine is out...the body is off... now to work on the frame







1) In the beginning... "Before" the Restoration

I haven't done anything to it at this point...but clean it up a bit!

The seats are shot... rust is abundant...

The original F Head engine is stuck

Our "donor" jeep now runs....took it for a quick spin
around the yard.  Now ready to be disassembled!
